Fair Lawn
Home to the planned Radburn community, two train stations on the Bergen County Line, and a mix of capes, colonials and split-levels.
BERGEN COUNTY, NEW JERSEY · REAL ESTATE
Bergen County is the most populous county in New Jersey, and it runs from Hudson River high-rises in Edgewater and Cliffside Park to train towns like Ridgewood, Fair Lawn and Ramsey.
I grew up in Bergen County, so this is home turf. I’ve sold homes from Edgewater to Ramsey and leased homes from Montvale to Saddle Brook, and I know how different one Bergen town can feel from the next.
Every town has its own schools, taxes and personality.
Here’s a quick feel for each one.
Home to the planned Radburn community, two train stations on the Bergen County Line, and a mix of capes, colonials and split-levels.
A walkable village downtown with restaurants and shops, a busy train station and well-known schools.
Small-town charm with a downtown train station on the Main Line and easy access to Route 17.
Quiet residential streets in the Pascack Valley, with a train station and quick access to the Garden State Parkway.
The county seat, a large medical center, and a downtown that has seen a lot of new development.
Hudson River views, high-rise and townhome living, and ferry or bus access to Manhattan.
Convenient to Route 80, Route 4 and the Garden State Parkway, often with more approachable prices.
Also Paramus, Glen Rock, Teaneck, Wyckoff and Mahwah.
Bergen County has dozens of towns, each with its own schools, taxes and personality, and most of them are small. I’ll help you narrow the list to the few that fit your commute, budget and everyday life, then move fast when the right house comes up.

KIND WORDS FROM BERGEN COUNTY
“Holly is the real deal. Brilliant real estate agent, but also a kind and trustworthy person.”
“She guided us through each home like she’d live in it herself.”
It really depends on what you need. Ridgewood and Fair Lawn are great if you want a train and a walkable downtown. Edgewater and Cliffside Park suit people who want river views and a quick trip into Manhattan. Saddle Brook and Elmwood Park offer convenience and value. Tell me how you live and I’ll suggest a short list.
Yes, much of Bergen County still has blue laws that close most retail stores on Sundays, especially in Paramus. Grocery stores, restaurants and many other businesses stay open. Most locals end up loving the quiet Sundays.
There are lots of options: NJ Transit trains on the Bergen County, Main and Pascack Valley lines, buses into Port Authority, ferries from Edgewater, and driving over the George Washington Bridge. The right town depends on which one you’ll use.
Inventory across North Jersey has been tight, which often works in a seller’s favor. The best way to know is to look at recent sales on your street. I’ll put together a free, no-pressure home value review.
Yes. As a Certified Rental Agent I work with tenants and landlords, and I’ve leased homes in Montvale, Saddle Brook, Elmwood Park and Hackensack.
Buying, selling, renting or starting over, tell me what’s on your mind and I’ll help you figure out the next step.
